Imagine walking into your childhood again!

I created Pixiniti, a board game that bridges the analog past with the digital future. The game includes eight short games inspired by traditional Persian games that have been enjoyed by families for generations, both indoors and outdoors.

In terms of design, Pixiniti seamlessly blends elements of the past and the future. The game pieces feature pixel art patterns, cards, and 3D-illustrated tokens representing the digital future, while traditional Persian carpet designs and stained-glass patterns inspire the visual motifs. To add a modern twist, I reimagined these patterns in pixel art and introduced fictional animal characters.

The game contains a board, cards, dice, jigsaw puzzles, tokens, rocks, and a detailed instruction booklet. This board game creates a futuristic yet nostalgic experience, bringing people together to enjoy traditional Persian games in a fresh and engaging format.

Designing these elements required great attention to detail. To create illustrations resembling Persian carpets while incorporating minimalist characters. Sketching played a crucial role, with multiple rounds dedicated to refining the concept. I used a minimalist approach with single-color pixels to balance simplicity with complexity

I followed this approach to create scalable patterns. Larger patterns were used for bigger surfaces, such as packaging and the rulebook, while medium-sized patterns were used for rule cards, slightly larger than bonus cards. Bonus cards, distributed to players during the game, featured smaller yet visible patterns designed for the smallest prints. Finally, unique illustrations were applied to cubes, which serve as part of the game materials, adding another layer of visual and tactile engagement.
